Wednesday's Morning Work 1/25 -I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
Students will read this poem written by Maya Angelou to identify personification and main idea. Students will also need to think beyond the surface level to discover the theme of this poem. This is by far one of the greatest poems ever written in the 2oth century.
Tuesday's Morning Work 1/24 -Hang You Up
Students will read this poem and identify basic elements of poetry. A video has also been included to help students understand rhythm and meter.
